Bonfire Night at Porth Beach, Newquay

Once again Newquay’s best organised bonfire nights is to be held at Porth Beaches Mermaid Inn. The fire and fireworks will be lit from around 7pm Entry is free but staff will be going round with a collection bucket.

Nowhere Island Olympic art team head home

An artist and his team are returning to the UK with part of an Arctic island for a £500,000 Olympics art project. Alex Hartley and 18 volunteers excavated about six tonnes of material from an island exposed by a glacier on the Svalbard peninsula in Norway.
