Britain’s beaches are getting better!

Good news if you’re heading to the seaside this summer – Britain’s beaches are getting better.

Bathing water quality at UK beaches has reached one of its highest levels in the last 25 years, the publishers of the Good Beach Guide say.

The Marine Conservation Society looked at how clean the water is at seasides in the UK and gave their top award to 461 beaches – 42 more than last year. The number of beaches given the top rating was the third highest number in the Good Beach Guide’s 24-year history.

As the quality of the UK’s bathing waters can play a vital role in the economic recovery of our traditional seaside resorts, its great to know that Newquay in Cornwall was among the best rated.
