Newquay, for those seeking a holiday with plenty to do…
If you are looking for a destination where you will have lots to see and do then you should head to the Cornish resort of Newquay.
Located on the Atlantic coast of the UK’s most southerly county, Newquay is a veritable haven for those who love to get out and about and appreciate all that the region has to offer.
So, if you are planning ABreakAway to Newquay, what can you expect to find?
One of the reasons that the area is so popular is its beaches and you will have four main stretches of sand to choose from – Fistral Bay, Newquay Bay, Crantock Beach and Watergate Bay.
All of these are guarded during the summer season, which generally runs from the start of May until the end of September, so you can feel safe.
You might want to try surfing, which is a popular pastime in the region. Newquay in fact hosts surfing competitions throughout the year and is regarded as one of the best places in the country to get to grips with a board.
But spending time at the beach is not the only thing to do during your stay.
How about a daytrip to Newquay Zoo, where more than 130 different species are on show – including lions, zebras, lemurs and parrots.
Meanwhile, if you are fascinated by marine creatures, a visit to the Blue Reef aquarium at nearby Towan Bay could be perfect.
As well as being wowed by the colourful tropical fish on display, you could be surprised by the host of animals that inhabit the waters off Cornwall – it may even inspire you to explore the rockpools on the local beaches later in your holiday.
